Hy LandonL. welcome, there is a special tool which stabilizes/holds all parts of the balancer together while it is being installed onto the crankshaft with a hammer, failure to use such a tool may result in the bond between all the elements of the balancer being broken. I don't know if the tool can be rented or not, but I have seen some catastrophic things happen to the outer ring of the balancer, when it was not used while installing the balancer with a hammer, hope that helps.
