This metal work is a new thing for me. I’ve been a woodworker ever since I was 14, and this project is my first attempt at cutting and shaping metal and welding it together. I never imagined that the thing to cut would be the frame rails of the truck, and that was my mistake. Once I figured out what was wrong, it was a relatively easy fix. The boxing plate on the driver’s side will be a replacement. I got the bottom to fit pretty well, but then ground the top of the plate to match my frame rail. It’s already too small, so I’ll get another piece of steel on Monday.
