Outside temp was probably around 90 or so maybe in the 80s. However I've driven this truck in 95 plus degree weather in rush hour traffic and never had overheating issues.
I found a appropriate thermostat housing gasket in the barn and put a thin film of wheel bearing grease on each side and sealed the thermostat housing back up. It drove it around for a while and it stayed around 195 instead of 180 but crept up to close to 2:12 when I pulled in the driveway and was idling. I took up some slack in the fan belt in case that might be a contributing factor but probably not the ultimate problem
