Well, I guess maybe I jinxed myself yesterday in the discussion about jw51 and Bill hanlon's flush jobs on their trucks. Old Roy (1950 1/2-t) overheated today on the highway and is now sitting in a gas station.

The water was boiling out of the overflow reservoir. There are no evidence of ruptures or leaks anywhere else. I'm wondering if the thermostat could have stuck shut or if some crud somewhere in the system was dislodged and is stopping up the works.

My immediate concern, however is how to get the truck out of there. I intend to let it cool down and either fill it back up with water and drive it to 10 mi to my mom's house, or remove the thermostat and drive without the thermostat out to my mom's house 10 MI rather than go the 30 mi back to my own house at least until I figure out what's going on.

The Sam's club fuel center attendant was kind enough to loan me his car to come out here and get tools so I've got to get back there ASAP and get this show on the road.

Any suggestions are appreciated. And if anybody has any specific advice or wants to call me in person, feel free to do so. My number is 678-358-7890.
