OK let's take evac34's question: You said what he can't do. So what can he do? Am I to understand that had a perfectly good car motor with no fan hitting problem, but to put it in a 1950 truck he had to get a short pump so the fan would not hit the radiator but now it hits the balancer? What does he need to do?

This is a total different question than adapter plate component problems I guess, but can someone address this situation first? It is pretty near the OP's first question.

There are enough bits and pieces on here and 900 other posts to get the plate thing done if a person reads enough. (Tip Mr. Lederman?) smile
