so i am putting a 1956 235 Belair engine in my 1950 truck. The harmonic balancer is 7 3/8" in diameter and has 3/8 pulley. I will put in either a 12v generator or alternator not sure yet. I called chevs of the 40s today and they told me the pump they sold me should have a shim with it. I tried shimming the fan blade out but it still hits the balancer. I am trying to re-use the fan blade from the 235 motor.
should I take the loss and order from somewhere else? what is the best way to go here. everything else was going pretty good but bam I hit the wall with this one.
