I had no intention of doing the plate thing. All I wanted to do is get a water pump that would allow me to put the 1956 235 in my 1950 pickup. I thought it was as easy as buying a short shaft water pump bolt it in and done. But my fan hits that darn balancer. Did the chef of 40s sell me the wrong pump? Do I need a different fan blade. I am trying to use the fan blade from the 235 that was on the original pump
