There is an adapter plate that makes the early design pump fit the later 235. That's what they're telling you- - -use the adapter! Dozens, if not hundreds of them are in use. By using the high-mount 216 style pump all the issues with fan clearance to the crankshaft balancer and radiator centering get solved.
