the green engine is a 1954 Chevrolet 261 big truck engine
The rusty looking one is a 1956 Chevrolet 235 car engine .

Tim, pic #21 you spoke of tells a lot for this discussion, also pic # 19.
Now I remember where I got all my information to do the water pump adapter plate conversion. The previous owner of my suburban did a A1 hack job on the core support to move the radiator forward.
