You have a 1956 235 car engine that you want to put into a 1950 truck?
You will want to use a pre-1955 water pump.

There are two styles of pre-55 water pumps to choose from:
3/8" belt groove or 5/8" belt groove

Will the 1950 truck be 12v?
If so, do you already have a 12v generator - what size/width belt-groove (3/8")?
Do you have a harmonic balancer - what diameter and what groove size/width?

With that information, maybe people here can advise you if your combination is OK.
