Nice stuff. There are 2 reasons it would not work both of which can be overcome.
1. If the truck has a column shift 3 speed the linkage arms will interfere. This can be resolved by modifying the arms similar to
this. 2. Too much carburetion or unmatched units resulting in the dreaded off idle bog and overall poor performance.
Here’s some information on Rochester carb selection but Carter, Zenith, Stromberg, and Holley/Weber among others are alternatives.
