My Dad had just bought a new 58 tri-powered 348 Impala and sent away to McGurk for a catalog. I came across it after he passed away and found it tucked in a drawer, still in the original mailing envelope with a lot of flyers for hopping up 6's, small blocks and the new 348. How do these prices sound to you, effective 4-1-58.

Chevy Super Dual intake with all linkages and fuel lines, $46.00, add a pair of new Stromberg carbs for $37.50

Set of 6 Power-Dome pistons,7 3/4 comp. ratio,$45.00

Milled,filled,and ported head, $48.00 exchange.

3/4 cam, $35.00 exchange

Rods converted to inserts with new bearings, $32.00 exchange.

Aluminum McGurk rocker cover with chrome breather,$24.00

New Corvette dual exhaust manifolds, $14.50

Granted $40-$50 a week were about the working man's take home pay in the 50's so I guess looking at it that way, this stuff was pretty steep for the average Joe back then.

Barry, are you setting up a booth at Iola?
