Well, the machinist who is doing the block and head work has stated that he won't warranty the engine with the dual 2bbl Carter-Webers, because he's concerned about fuel washing the cylinder walls. Not sure I agree with him, but losing his warranty is a big deal to me.

I investigated the Weber 34 ICH carb. The throat is 1.34 inches, just slightly smaller than the Rochesters. But the bolt holes are 2.5 inches apart, whereas the Offy manifold has a 2.9375 inch (center to center) spacing, so I'd have to have an adapter fabricated for each carb. Plus it's a cable-pull throttle, so that would take some work to setup the linkage.

I found a guy ( online ) who rebuilds Rochesters to factory OEM settings, including a very nice zinc-chromate finish. So, I'm leaning toward sticking with the setup I have (one Rochester B and one Rochester BC) and having Sparky restore them to like-new condition. Since I already have the linkage, and the carbs are "authentic" to the era, it seems like the best way to go, despite all the problems people seem to have with these carbs. Maybe Sparky can make them last 100,000 miles. I'd be happy with that. I talked to him today. He really seems to know Rochesters inside and out.
