But Mike, there is no restriction and no gasket around the top. It sits in there and allows all the water that wants to go through those holes to just do it. Unless that gasket deteriorated and left no evidence it was ever there. When you look at the photos, you see what I see. Holes with no way to shut them off. Maybe there is something I am not understanding. That actually would figure. Amazing we have no pictures showing the action of these thermostats. I am thinking we have over-threaded this one. I am too dense or something to understand this one. Thanks for trying! I can see it working better if it had a second regular thermostat under it, but when I took it apart, that's what was there.
