Nonetheless, I switched to the 235 housings on my 261s in 3100 trucks, so I would not have to fiddle with a hose-diameter adapter. My 261 gasket sets ( a few years old) came with both size thermostat housing gaskets. Tim 1954Advance-Design.com 1954 3106 Carryall Suburban 1954 3104 5-window pickup w/Hydra-Matic The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" -- this is a splash oiler.
