A few last touches before test time, which should be soon.
The universal Chevy 6 cyl alt bracket wouldn't mount the 100amp 3 wire alternator far enough away from the block so I made up a plate to kick it out a bit and it looks like it'll work out OK.
Found a universal 12v coil w/internal resistor at a local old timey auto parts store (along w/some clips and brass fittings) and the new OEM style plug wires arrived so I set the dist and got the ignition system ready. Got the fan mounted and belt adjusted. The engine is ready to be transferred to the testing/breakin stand. I'm going to use the 54 bell housing for testing/breakin and swap it out with the 216's bell housing to properly mount back in the 49.
