Did a basic carb rebuild tonight. The power piston was froze up in it's bore,the accelerator pumps sealing cup was worn and hardened and it had two gaskets sandwitched between the two halves. I had a nearly complete Rochester B rebuild kit left over from a long ago project that had the needed parts plus the correct new gasket. It should work now, if just for the break in.
The main jet was labeled with a 58. Since I'm going to go with headers and a hotter 3/4 cam I'm going to order a couple larger sized mains, perhaps a 60 and a 62 or maybe even larger. I'll be researching that more.

Tim, thanks for the answer. Good to know I can use the bigger clutch assembly.
I'll not worry w/cleaning and painting the 235's bellhouseing now grin
