Thanks for the input on the rocker shaft orientation men. I couldn't tell via the pics and I wasn't sure if the topend hadn't been apart before. Figured it would oil the rockers better that way. It'll be easy enough to point those shaft oiling holes down as they aren't installed yet.
Still awaiting on the new oil pump, going on 6 weeks now......
Going to disassemble inspect and clean the original oil pump in the mean time.
Graham, I'm afraid I've grown too attached to that engine now
