SHIMS?????? Are you out of your mind? Don't use shims in a 'Thinwall bearing' motor
Shims are for poured babbit!!!!
The reason we use thin walled bearings is first ease I guess but more importantly the conduct heat away from the crank quicker! Shims slow this process....screw with the crush which results in high spots and an out-of-round bore....SHIMS!!!!
If you want to do this right.......Put the Brgs in the block,torque them,measure AND TELL the crank grinder the size you want the crank......I have a machine shop agrees with my mics
but I'm lucky to have a grinder that takes pride in his work and knows I'm gonna check him.
If you are worried you just tell him to take 0.XXX+-.0005. That way there is less chance for a TOTAL error
