Please buy a set of Starret snap gauges.....I got a cheap set to carry on the road they have the wrong radii on the end OK for big work not this crank stuff
Yes mics have a feel you have to get the touch.......but it's not Rocket Science!
Snap Gauge 101-
Hold the gauge in one hand and close it with the two fingers on the other.As you put it in the bore MAKE sure the handle is not 90 degrees to the bore tighten the gauge and draw it
overcenter to the bore as you withdraw it, NOW mic
It takes practice but only a little to start to make you good
