Today, I got the cam and timing gears installed as well as the oil pump. Since I had so much metal go through the engine before the rebuild, I opted to replace the oil pick up and screen assembly instead of cleaning the old one. It was a $15 insurance policy. Well worth it in my book.
After inspecting my harmonic balancer, I will be installing a sleeve on it. There is a small, but distinct groove in it from the old front seal. Another cheap insurance policy. This one is $10.00.
