I do appreciate all the help. It's been more than 30 years since I built my last sbc, and back then, it was basically a stock rebuild. No fancy cam and spring options to consider. I have no problems with the actual mechanics of tear down, clean up, and reassembly. It's the choosing the correct non-stock parts to combine to get the motor that will fit my application that stumps me. I just don't have the experience.
