A 307 engine has the same stroke as a 327, and a damaged or badly worn "large journal" crank can become a standard-diameter small journal item if your machinist is willing to do the work. The casting number won't be right but the engine won't know the difference. Some guys don't like putting that much wear on an expensive grinding wheel, or spending the time necessary to do it.
