Thanks Don. I tried slipping a valve in it but said no way, but the starter shaft commuter, now that's more like what would fit. The part that still puzzles me is the 'threads' don't really seem to be threads but more like sequential concentric rings (if I have my terms right) I will give that a much more thorough test/look see tomorrow... now I can get a good nights sleep too.
