Hotroddickie brings up a very good set of observations. We have all had to deal with poor materials in replacement and "upgrade" parts for so long we have forgotten to look at easy solutions. Moving the condenser to a dry location beats whining about it. And the idea that a good ground and stable voltage might make that HEI live longer makes such good sense that we might over look it. The tip on the coil to match the Pertronix is good usable information. Thanks Rich.
Any one want to make a "Runtz" for that Pertronix? It just might solve the question about dependability.
