I will be cracking into the "E" package of my American Autowire Highway 22 wiring kit.
I have Mounted:
the Fuse Panel on the top of the driver's kick panel.
(A) ignition Switch and Starter Wiring Kit
(B) Alternation Connection Kit
(C) Headlight Switch Kit
(D) Steering Column/Turn Signal Connection Kit
This weekend I hope to finish with:
(E) Gauge Connection Kit (Sending Unit Side)
(F) Accessory Connection Kit
Then I'll do a "double check" to make sure everything is wired correctly. Then I'll call the Fire Marshall and reconnect the battery. grin

Maybe we should have a hotline to the Stovebolt Fire Dept.
It might take John a while to get down from MD though! eek
Seriously though..... good luck.
I'm planning on tackling some 'tinworm' at the bottom of my front fenders, and probably some more painting.

If the weather is decent, I might take the truck out for a ride. Since the show season is over around here, I'm going to get the heater control valve rebuilt by Classic Parts, order and install new knobs for the vents, give the truck a good wax job, and think about how to install the sun visors. The headliner is in, but now I'm not sure where to cut the holes for the visors.

I'm going to scrub the truck down, and maybe even wax it and fill up the gas tank. I'm driving her to the ATHS show in Greensboro on Saturday, definitely going to take my camera and load up on the pictures of the other trucks there.

IF I have time, I may clean off my work bench and open up the B-W R10 and see how everything looks in there. If I could find a '66 Chassis Overhaul Manual, I would tear it all the way down.

I didn't have any plans but now that you mention it, I think I'll take it out for a spin. The weather's supposed to be pretty decent, in the 60's and sunny. I better enjoy the nice weather before it changes, winters seem to last way too long here.

I'm installing an underseat heater from a '54 Buick under the front seat of my '62 Suburban. The truck's original heater was designed to heat a pick-up cab, not a pick-up cab PLUS 10 feet of cargo space.
The Buick under-seat heater throws warm air to the driver's feet, under the passenger side of the front seat, and out he back to the rear seat feet. It will be a very welcome addition this winter!

The last couple weekends I had been doing body work on my rear fenders but my welder stopped working.
I was just welding up a hair line crack along the seem and it stopped.
The darn thing is probably 20+ years old and I bought it broken at a pawn shop but I really hope I can get it buzzing again!

Planning out my vintage air install, lots to do, hope to have it wrapped up by spring. With the help of a friend, making a different alternator bracket to mount above the compressor and a gazillion other issues. And may make a speed run to a new chrome shop I've heard about.

These Stovebolters keep me inspired to get things done, thanks.

I had not thought of the heat problem with the old Subs. Another idea those wanting to heat the back would be to use a rear heater from a long van.

I'm going to the dump with some plastic bags full of Gradoo. Then to the lumber yard for some road sealer in 5 gallon buckets. Then to the store for weekend grocery's. Then to Maria's for lunch. Then back home for god knows what else. It takes us forever to get these things done as we are always stopped by those who do not have classic rides and just want to drool on our 54 truck...Oh well we must be kind to the less fortunate.

I just received my new 12 volt gas, 0-60 oil pressure and V8 temp gauges. So with the cool weather on tap for this weekend I'll plan on getting them installed, then of course I'll have to take it for a test drive!

Saturday, I'm hauling the panel body, grille and doors to the body man. Got to do some "figuring" on the front fenders and hood. I think I need to replace them? Should be back to me by the end of the year.

Changing the oil and filter, and I'm planning on taking the intake off to get the core plug holes welded up. Recently added exhaust heat, and they leak. Also planning to repaint the rear bumper, the finish I used originally didn't hold up very well to the UV (it held up rust wise, it just doesn't look good). I've already done the front, so now I'm going to make the rear match.

I took mine out for a long 250 mile ride through the country Saturday to see the last off the trees changing.
Those vacuum wipers really got a work out in all the morning fog, it was afternoon till it burnt off. Going to go fill it up today with cheap gas ($1.89) and clean it up for the winter. Joe
