Hey, awesome discussion on lowering! This might be one for the FAQ, more information in this one post than anywhere else.

Easy to lose sight of the car being a balance between form and function - form takes precedence for many builders. I'm always amused to see the tricked out and lowered ricers going extra slow - I always assumed that was just a driving choice, but never suspected they might be teetering on the edge of drivability because they decided to lower within 1" of the ground...

The most amusing case I've seen was the pickup with the end of tailpipe and the bottom part of the muffler being ground off every time he went through an intersection with any dip to it... smile
