JW51 Old rodders would build there wire loom then wrap it with kite string,using a continuous loop system you could unravel,repair then wrap it back up. Today you can use industrial size(1 inch) teflon tape. Nice and clean and dry and easy to remove do repairs then replace.Sticky tape is messy and hard to work,especially cheap tape.
