That type of fitting is a captive ferrule type. You shouldn't need to do anything to the end of the tube. I would carefully ream the end of the tube to remove any burrs from cutting the tube.

A quick question - are you using the attachment manager to include your pics? If not, you should, so that they're visible right in your post and we don't need to click on the link. Maybe it's what you're using to post them (phone?). headscratch
