I hate weatherstrip adhesive. Quite messy. It doesn't help that my tube of black was no longer effective. Luckily, my tube of yellow was up to the task. Tried something different. Tried to mask of the area that I didn't want to have glue get on. Worked reasonably well.
Except for installing the windows, I'm about done with the back doors. The paint and body work turned out the way I wanted on the inside. The exterior could use a little more smoothing. I did a temporary fix for the everlasting drooping handle. I ground off about 3/16" from the tip and coated the raw end with some silver paint. Now it clears the door panel. I've fitted the window rubber, now I just need to superglue the ends together. When I removed the tail light at the beginning of the project, I yanked a wire out of the socket, so that needed repair. I soldered a new contact to the offending wire. Then did the same to the good wire so both would match height wise inside the socket.
Car show season is upon me. I definitely have push truck duty in June and at the end of September. In fact, I was supposed to take it for push car duty on May 4, 5 and 6 in Tucson but plans changed and I will be hauling a really nice shoebox Ferd for a friend. I also want to drive it as the weather is nice. But that roof and the hood are calling to me!! They both want to be ground down and coated with that nice Southern Polyurethane Epoxy Primer!! Guess I have some scheduling and decisions to make!
