Hard for us to judge this unless we personaly had the same reaction. I have been Ok with them and like the %10 discount. I don't like that the 55-59 power brake system and the disc brake conversion do not get a discount because they are "drop shipped". That should not make a difference!!! It's probably: bla bla bla... we don't have enough markup. But all in all as good as any place to do business with. They all are subject to how good their employees act on a given call. I would not hate the company but would definitely report this person to management. How they react to that is how to judge the company. Try online ordering and questions before you cancel them out of your resources. %10 is %10, aye? One bad call in 20 years is not that bad. Bartamos.

I have not been happy with American Classic either. Since I've had great service and communications with Jim Carter, Langdon's, Patricks, Clifford, LMC, Jegs, Summit, and Bowtie, I don't need the aggravation of a poor attitude when there are so many other choices.

I have not ordered anything from American Classic for a while, but always had great service from them. There is a woman there with a British accent who has been great to work with. As someone else said here, call the company and report the bad attitude. If you get the people I have dealt with they will take care of you.

Dear Mr Malicoat (1946chevypickup), Sorry about you experience with our new sales person. He says that he wasn't sure about the tube that you were looking for......... Anyway call us and ask for one of the Jacks to help you as they are both very knowledgeable. If you chose to order with us again, (I'm showing 23 orders from you going back 11 years) tell the salesperson to thrown in a free T-shirt and/or Cap and say Ben has okayed it. All the best in your truck restoration. Ben

No doubt about it that is more than a fair response to a complaint.

When a business goes out of their way to respond to a complaint, you got to give 'em a second chance! I will look into them as well. I wish Carters had done the same for me. I guess we all have good and bad experiences. I've had good luck with classicparts.com.

I will never order from them due to the horrible customer service response I got via email and even worse upon calling in person. Apparently their employees are allowed to take out their personal problems on the customers. At least thats the reason I got when calling, and was laughed at because I was unhappy with the response from the recipient of my email.

Jim Carter, Chevs of the 40's, and the Filling Station have my business and will continue to in the future. American Classic Truck Parts lost my business, now and forever, and I will never forget how rudely they treated me.

I didn't have the same experience but I was unable to purchase because at the time they didn't sell to Canadians. That was several years ago and it was surprizing to me because I was told there were no plans to change that.

Many years ago I spent a good amount of time in the parts business, both retail and wholesale. I learned early on that you can't please everyone all the time. Personalities are just what they are and granted some people should not be in the service end of the business. That being said, I always try to be patient with the person behind the counter. Who knows what the last customer did or what the significant other said as a parting shot that morning. The old saying "You catch more flies with honey than vinager" still applies today. If your having trouble with a sales person you can always ask for a supervisor. It sounds like Ben knows how to conduct his business and do as he suggests and ask for one of the Jacks when you call. Remember not everyone is an expert on old trucks and the description of the part your giving might just be confusing to the best of them. I personally have never ordered from them but only because I have access to many outlets locally. I would not be afraid to order today if I needed to. They are great to our members and they deserve our support.

Until the supervisor treats you disrespectfully, which was my experience.

I have nothing against Classic, I know I have ordered from them on line without any problems, but probably have ordered tons more from Jim Carter and The Filling Station. I love that the Filling Station allows me to ship to my school I teach at rather than my home address when using my Visa. I can't get home in time to get to the post office from work if shipped to my house. Most companies require you ship to the billing address on the Visa. That and the fact that they have, I think, the most comprehensive catalog of any of them.

I just ordered a part from American Classic Truck Parts yesterday and had a fine experience. The part was cheaper than their online competitors and the total shipping on the oversized item was consideribly less than their competition. Overall a very positive experience.

Fixing the mistake is better that fixing blame. The response by American Classic Truck Parts, their participation in discussions and the discount is Classy. Always been satisfied with their service and with "Angie" (I think that's her name?)

American Classic Truck Parts was a MAJOR sponsor for the IRWIPI -Tripple Dog Dare Adventure. Without qualms he paid STOVEBOLT much of the cost of the trip. That money in turn help pay for the "Socks for the Troops" and Care packages sent via Stovebolt headquarters, among other things. They are cool man.

Think of the sponsorship they continue to give Stovebolt.com, your favorite hangout.

I have ordered from American Classics and always had good experiences. Same as Alan's 57 on the lady with the British accents - she was most helpful on several occasions for me. I was ordering lots then and they had some parts other vendors did not have available at the time.
