From Brad :

Here is my submission to the Gallery: My truck is a 1950 Chevrolet 3600. The story follows.

I found the truck for sale in an online classifieds for a local TV station (Salt Lake City). The truck was for sale in a little community called Pine Canyon, Utah. I called the owner and got the directions and broke several speed laws since I really wanted to see it after hearing his story. The truck was original to the family and came with the original title. The owner's Grandfather had bought it for use at his small mine in Eureka, Utah.

When I saw the truck, it had a license plate on it from 1966, the last time it was officially registered. The owner thought it was a 1/2-ton but I told him that it is a 3/4-ton. (Check this nice front shot!)

We settled on $500 and I called my brother-in-law, who has a flatbed tow truck, and asked him to get it home (40 miles).

So I have built a new garage and will start refurbishing the truck soon. It was missing the fuel pump and the radiator but that was all. There were several years of nastiness in the cab and bed which I have cleaned out in preparation for the work to begin (found lots of little parts in there!).

Thanks,

Brad Allen
