This morning I figured I would check around on ebay to see if anyone had any good deals going on some 47-53 truck parts. In my search, I found this and it just about made me throw up. Did anyone else happen to run across this?

Looks good from the front. Oh well, to each his own. It's what they wanted, and it seems to be good quality work. Just not something I would do to my truck.

The truck parked on the street looks better. I don't like it but he put a lot of work into and I'm sure $$$$$$$$$$.

You will never miss it in a parking lot !!! Different strokes for different folks.

Looking at the current bid price. Doesn't look like it's getting a lot of interest. If it was a resto-rod or a restored version, you'd be looking at a lot higher $$$$.

I can even go along with the front end a little bit, and the convertible top, even though I dont like it, but that whole stretched box with the dual rear wheels is just plain ugly

I can only hope that some kind soul buys that truck and crushes it to put it out of its misery.

Not my thing. It does represent quite an investment though, I'm not sure it was worth it.

HE SHOULD HAUL IT DOWN TO DISNEY WORLD AND MAKE IT A PEOPLE MOVER.

On a custonizing note, there is alot of creativity there. On a tastefullness level it is down right gawdy! Looks like a conglomeration of left over parts to make a truck. Why do people choose to ruin a classic!?

The Guy is good with his hands but short on taste! I have seen some COEs some what like that. But they where pretty cool car haulers. Olds Toranoto 455 front wheel drive up front and pretty much a two axle car trailer for a rearend.

That is one odd ball truck for sure i thought of a few years back when there was a lot of them in the truck mags like that the little trucks like S10's ...not that i like but his truck to do what ever with ..

If you take a look at the door panels they don't even contour to the door shape they have a huge gap. That would probably tell you that the rest of the truck was done poorly. Theres most likely more bondo on the body then sheet metal and it needs the twin axles to carry all the wieght of the filler.

You can tell it is poorly done by the "bubblyness" of it. The rear end looks like a gallon of filler was used.

I mean they just killed it. No good can come of this abomination. How about that use of the tailgate up front huh? May it rest in peace.

I personally would rather drive my truck unrestored than have that one. It is for sure a one of a kind, just not my taste.

What a discusting thing to do to history. If he had put half as much energy into restoring it ,think what it would have looked like...... a shame for sure, and I don't care who's truck it is.A SHAME!

I often wonder what kind of friends someone who does something like this must have. When the builder asked, " Does this work, does it look good?" his buddies answered, "Yeah,man, it looks SICK". Only they meant it in the old way, like REAL SICK!

then we were off to the Chevrolet dealer to buy us a spanking new cab and chassis to which we added a stake bed for hay haulin and such.

Man, what a misdirected amount of manpower and money that this guy must have put into that thing.

We ought to get a Stovebolt pool together, buy it and put it out of it's misery. We could add that footage to the "favorite video clip" thread. Who get's to push the T handle down?

This is an example of the crazes/fads in the world of customizing classic vehicles. As a classic truck purist, I believe the true longevity of a vehicle is maintained long after the fad has past. Unless it ends up in a museum or as a promotional vehicle, it has a life-span/shelf-life. An unmolested classic truck is ageless. Slamming, shaving, sectioning, etc., etc. all run their useful course, until the next new thing comes along. To each his own, however this type of radical customization of a classic truck makes it destine to die quickly, relative to its life-span if it remains a retored classic vehicle. Long live the classic iron.

...and it makes the intestines rumble a little.

Hey Rusty-- I wanted to make a quip about it being a CA thing, but I didn't want to insult our bolt brothers who have common sense and good taste.

so I will now take 100% full responsibility for bringing this to everyones attention and making everyone sick for the last 24 hours, and I do apologize, but after initial review I CAN actually find 1 good use for this truck.....it CAN haul 4x8, 4x9, and probably even 4x10 sheets of plywood without even putting the tailgate down!

you have to remember it is CALIFORNIA. ron
