Man, I just had to stop in the middle of my Gallery stuff to post this. I started to do it last week, but I thought perhaps it was just a fluke.

Do you all REALLY have such CLEAN garages? Man, I have never seen such neat, clean (and sometimes almost empty) garages as I have in the last few weeks. Most of the image is cropped out so you've missed out on the "big picture" here.

And then over the weekend, we went to an ATHS picnic and the fellow is building a garage that looks like it'll be the size of his house. Even with a great view of the pond. Quite impressive!

It's a job keeping our car garage neat and keeping the stuff that doesn't belong there ... O U T  . The '49's home is pretty full of stuff (including the second '49 in pieces). It's as neat as we can stuff it. Certainly doesn't look like the photos I've seen lately.

So, I just finished txpete\'s tri-fecta (he got his third '58) ... and man, another clean and neat garage.

I am impressed.

So ... now that I've got that out of my head, I'll get back to the gallery pile!

Cheers,
Peg

It takes my wife just a few days to pack our garage with junk we don't use anymore. I clean it, get rid of stuff. She shops, and fills it with junk again. And the cycle just keeps going...Maybe if I stuff the shelves with empty boxes, she'll think it's full!

Every time I clean out the garage, the wife decides its time to clean house. And guess what?
The crap she doesn't want ends up in my garage!

I cleaned my garage this weekend and pulled my truck in and started taking things apart. I was able to take up the space before the wife got home from shopping.(not that she could park in before the cleaning or anything)

Ive got a tiny 2 car garage. Against 1 wall is a 56 gmc cab on a dolly stuffed with parts, next to its a 72 cab on a dolly waiting to be worked on.

Above the garage door is shelving I built to hold parts, 4' deep across the entire width of the garage w/only a foot of clearence to the ceiling.

My tools/shelves take up the other wall and my 53 takes up the rest of my garage space... I really have to suck in my stomach to move around!

Outside in the carport is the 72 frame and behind it is the 41 with the last 12' of frame sticking out into the weather.

Wonder what its like to have space??? I cant remember... We have no room. But I stay busy! grin Oh yeah I sneak her stuff back into the house and have about a months reprieve before she finds it again! wink

2 years ago I got an empty 25'x50'steel building and a 53'4400.I'm STILL rearanging things and building storage shelves, racks, and even rooms!I'm getting ready to build an office/breakroom(really just a place where I can live when Jen is mad at me)and upgrade the electrical situation.I'm such a packrat that I will take apart broken lamps to save spare parts :o ,sooner or later I'll have a use for it.Everything I've built for my shop is recycled grin and I'm always getting more.

I've got too much JUNK.. i've got boxes that havent been unpacked in 10 years or more!!!

I was able to spread it out between the two garages tho, so it looks neater than it actually is...

Who wants to waist all that time sweeping. Ten years from now who is going to care if your shop was clean but all the neat stuff you built will last for ever. Work now leave the mess for your kids to clean up when you die.

You are all lucky. My garage is about 10x20. With all my tools, I can't even fit my truck in it to work. The front end of my 68 is stacked next to the garage and looks like modern art. I spend most of my time in the sun, wind, rain, cold depending on the day of the week.

A buddy of mine at work used to say that " a clean desk is a sign of a sick mind". Going with that theme on the garage, I don't have a sick mind!

I guess when I get my truck freed up where it'll move easily, I'll put it in the barn. Then I can show you guys what a dirty shop really is, dirt floor and all. I might have to get some rolls of plastic from Wal mart so I can block off the wind this winter LOL. grin

Truckernix, your GMC looks like it was about like my 51. I think I'm gonna look around and try to find a more solid cab off a big bolt, seems most of them are alot less rusty around here than their smaller brothers.
