Well it has been an interesting day. First of all, I did find the bolt as you can see in the photo attached. I also was able to drop the cross frame (thank you impact wrench). I was then able to get the rear yoke to clear the transmission by putting a jack underneath the differential and raising the rear end so that the torque tube was more horizontal and the yoke move in such a way that it cleared the transmission. I had the rear end off the ground but the jack stands are set under the frame, so the suspension was at its full extension.
Now check out the second photo. That is the top of the torque tube. Anyone ever seen that before? I really have no idea how that could happen. I am hoping that if I can get the okie seal in there it will help make it all structurally sound.
