I took the truck for its first longer (only 10 miles) trip to continue to shake out operational areas that need attention.
No real surprises with the engine coolant temperature stabilizing at approx. 180 degrees, charging voltage stable at approx. 14.7 volts, engine oil pressure about 60 psi intially at 2000 rpm dropping to 40 psi after everything got warmed up with idle oil pressure approx 20 psi. The need to do some carburetor calibration work continues to show up with a slight hesitation when accellerating from idle and tendency to run-on when shutting down (idle is a little high - 750 rpm) and the perception that overall the calibration is rich. The engine has a lot of torque and easily runs down country roads at 60 mph (approx. 2100 rpm) with a lot of pedal left if there ever was a need for more speed.
The braking performance was good although I didn't make any attempts to stop quickly.
I turned the heater fan on breifly and the cab seemed to warm quickly but it was about 50 degrees outside so not surprising.
I have an appointment to have the toe in checked/set as it is currently set using a tape measure. It must be fairly close as it drives fairly well but the steering wheel does jump around a bit on uneven roads.
