The small pump seems to be the AC model that superceded the glass top model back in the 50's and used until the crimped model came out. I have one that still pumps just fine. Tom at Then and Now told me the only difference between it and the glass top one is the glass. The larger one was probably used on larger trucks that needed greater volume of vacuum for brakes etc.
