When the "new" gears arrive, cut the heads off a couple of long bolts to guide the ring gear into place as you install it onto the carrier. Put the ring gear onto the grate of a charcoal grill for a few minutes to expand the hole before you install it and it will drop right onto the room temperature carrier.
