Would it be advisable to use a spring steel backer on a new rope installation? Suspect the added pressure might cause accelerated wear on crank surface but now is the time to ask, while engine's upside down on the stand.
Currently leaning toward the neoprene and gonna get back on it soon (after finishing some unrelated stuff).
