Hmm...pretty sure my 235 was designed for a rope seal. I'll re-read the factory manual to see if there's a reference to a rubber seal. I'll default to Jerry's knowledge in any case, but did order the Best neoprene that seems to fit great in what I thought was a rope seal groove (pics in first post). This 235 doesn't appear to have had any other work done since new.
