I think we are all pretty much in agreement, we are talking about two different worlds of engines.

An exotic racing engine built to last 1000 mi is a far different creature than an antique stock GM truck engine built to last 100,000+ miles. So are newer OHC engines in new cars, but this forum is mostly about antiques.

One thing I don't understand though is that a low tension ring would require less load than a high tension one for breakin?
