Yeah, I usually don't cut the oil filter open unless the drained oil makes me suspect that something is going on. And I've heard to vary the speed of the engine during the 20 minute cam break-in. But if its OK to let it sit and revv at 2500, then thats easier.
I'm about to fire up a cam swap in my Pontiac. So I'm double-checking my procedures too.
