Welcome to the early GM truck forum -- Here, we can discuss issues specific to the pre 1937 trucks.
Why mid '36? Even though the transition from the venerable 171 engine to the legendary "Stovebolt Six" in 1929 was a huge change, very little else of note changed in the trucks -- the cabs remained pretty much the same, mechanical brakes continued and the overall design was merely tweaked, not radically altered.
But mid year in 1936, GM introduced the one-piece all metal cab. Along with hydraulic brakes (also introduced in 1936), these changes radically modernized the GM truck line (arguably) more than merely adding two cylinders to the engine (and changing little else).
For now, we can keep everything in this forum as most of it (engines, brakes, cabs, transmissions, wheels, etc.) are pretty unique to these early trucks.
