Just recently (September 23, 2023) Lurch, Dean "Rustoholic" Meltz's 1927 Chevrolet LM 1-ton truck, was featured in video by Chris Stevenson in the 2023 Ironstone Concours d'Elegance in Murphys, California. Stevenson explored the exhibition of vintage and classic cars. Lurch was one of them.

yahoo

In the first 20 minutes, the video SHOWN HERE has some neat footage and the excitement of a race. Lurch and Dean show up at 20: to about 26: - great coverage. Seeing Dean and Lurch on camera was worth the 20-minute wait. It was fun to see all the steps it takes to start the Lurch. And he sounded great.

One of Lurch's fans responded by email: "Dean, I learned a lot, especially how impossible it would be to steal Lurch! Only YOU can start him up!!!!"

She added: "You and Lurch were the STARS of this show! How fantastic! You can't pay for footage like this! Beautifully filmed! What a wonderful show you were a part of!"

In the video, Dean shows a lot of details of Lurch, with some good close-ups.

Thanks for sending this to us, Dean. thumbs_up

I think I am on an adventure driving my 54 to town, 4 miles away. Mine is a thoroughly modern Milley. Thanks for sharing.

Cool video. Congrats, Dean. And great job on the interview.
Sounds like Lurch is back on the road after your u-joint issue. thumbs_up
Noticed that a Model A driver would have issues getting it started as the spark control and throttle lever are on opposite sides. dang Another security feature. You wouldn't want a Ford guy driving your Chevy grin

Thanks for the kind words! ;-) The show was fantastic in every way and Lurch did me proud.

Jim, good to hear from you! Yes, Lurch and I have been together now for almost 30 years. Time does fly!

Best regards to all, Dean
