Can somebody take a picture or rough up a diagram of how the rods and links are connected?

But first, I have the piece below (the transverse tube that mounts to the frame rails under and slightly behind the fuel tank) that I need to figure out. The '31 I looked at has an almost completely different looking arrangement. The big doubled piece in the center looks like a support -- what does it attach to?

Those look like purely mechanical brakes. What I used to call "push and pray" on my Model A. But I guess for a big truck that can't go that fast, they should be adequate.

Per Dean's post on VCCA, the outer bands are service and inner bands are parking brakes. No Idea, but I'm guessing the forward shafts control the outer (service) bands.

Take a look at the 1930 Chevrolet Truck package (page 32) at the GM Heritage site and see if any of that is close to what you have or helps.

Mike -- Very interesting! Confirms what I thought about having newer truck parts. The '27 only has rear wheel brakes. The '30 has 4-wheel braking. Thus, the connections for the '27 are simpler than for the '30. It would explain why I have a bunch of parts that don't seem to go to my truck -- because they don't

Thanks -- those brake diagrams are very helpful. Not very close to what I am supposed to have but they helped me identify a bunch of parts I have that I can box up and make available for someone else.
