After following this thread for the past few days, if I were recommending a set up for your situation, I would recommend a stock one bbl Rochester 'B' carburetor, a stock oil bath air cleaner, the stock linkage and the stock manual pull choke. All those parts are guaranteed to fit and perform up to your expectations.
I would then put the “hot rod” kit up for sale in the “Swap Meet” area.
