Yes Nathan, it was super easy with a lift and a cherry picker. I ordered a couple of 3/8-24 all thread to act as guide pins and was able to hook the picker to a 3/8 eyebolt thru the top bolt hole. It took longer to add the gear lube than to do the swap.
Turns out that I did not get the 4:11 gears like I wanted. The new carrier had 4:57 gears but I think they will work just fine for the local driving I will be using the truck for. It had 5:13 gears in it and I have yet to give it a good drive to town. Maybe this weekend? Speedo is way off now, but that is no big deal.
