Had a local farm up the road call about some damaged oak trees that had been brought down and they didn't know what to do with the oversized trunk sections and couldn't move them due to size and weight. They asked if I wanted any of it, so I ran up with the loader and the truck and thirty minutes later had around 7.5 ton on the old girl. At a rough gross of 25k lb (door tagged at 19.5 but plated at 26) I certainly gave the overload springs a workout but she handled it well.
A few weeks after that I was asked to specifically bring "the" truck to a touch-a-truck fundraiser event for a local school district, so we showed up and let the kids climb all over her and learn what crank windows, manual transmissions, and two speed axles are. Surrounded by modern big rigs, fire engines, trash trucks, etc, the old girl turned out to be the popular stop for most and served as a backdrop for family photos. There's no substitute for the smooth curves of old iron.
