I finally got the last of the black tape off and was able to trace the wire.

It goes up near the light switch but doesn't connect to the switch. It goes off toward the passenger side into another black tape wrapped bundle.

Did the factory wrap the cloth wires in tape? It doesn't seem like they would but whoever did it on this truck did a good job. It's murder getting that stuff off.
