I appreciate the effort that bartamos has put forth to help you, and I appreciate your effort to follow his instructions to a T. He knows his stuff.
With your description of your harness with the Dime Store quality mash-on trailer light connectors and the sticky black tape, as well as your prior descriptions in other threads of the quality of the build which you are going for, you might want to consider replacing the entire wiring harness for peace of mind, and to achieve the quality of the build that you are shooting for.
That is just my 4 cents (adjusted for inflation).
